Alexander Chatfield Burns, Young Financier Whose Empire Collapsed, Found Dead

Alexander Chatfield Burns, a young financier charged with fraud in the wake of a 2014 collapse of his insurance empire, was found dead earlier this week at a residence in Charleston, S.C., the local county coroner’s office said.

Suicide is a possibility, said Chief Deputy Coroner Brittney W. Martin, but the office has the matter under investigation until autopsy results can be completed. It doesn’t appear to be foul play, she said.
