LOS ANGELES – Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has donated 25 tiny houses value US$250,000 (S$339,000) in whole to homeless veterans.
The previous California governor unveiled the Los Angeles houses final week as an early Christmas present.
“At this time, I celebrated Christmas early,” Schwarzenegger, 74, tweeted final Thursday (Dec 23). “It was incredible to spend a while with our heroes and welcome them into their new houses.”
He added in a follow-up tweet: “All of you’ve the facility to do one thing for another person this vacation season. It does not need to be huge. Simply give a couple of minutes of your time to assist another person.”
The shelters are every furnished with a mattress and outfitted with warmth, electrical energy and air-conditioning, and can home the veterans till they discover everlasting houses.
Talking to host Elex Michaelson of stories programme The Situation Is, Schwarzenegger mentioned: “I’ve made and have this nice success due to America.”
The previous bodybuilder and actor from Austria, who starred in films akin to The Terminator (1984) and Whole Recall (1990), added: “If it is not bodybuilding, if it is not enterprise, if it is not present enterprise, films and politics – no matter I tackled, I achieved due to America. So to me, it is at all times nice to present one thing again.”
