Kazakh president points 'shoot to kill' order as protesters conflict with troops

Kazakhstan’s president on Friday vowed to “shoot to kill” protestors after every week of demonstrations. Kazakhstan lies on the strategic crossroads of Russia, China and Central Asia, and has giant vitality reserves– with billions invested by U.S. corporations. But many Kazakhs stay in poverty. Financial woes are boiling over into calls for to upend the nation’s authoritarian politics. Nick Schifrin reviews.
