Ontario reported 346 COVID-19 cases on Saturday and set a new record for vaccines administered in a single day.
“Locally, there are 64 new cases in Toronto, 39 in the Region of Waterloo, 34 in Peel Region, 32 in Grey Bruce and 24 in the Porcupine Health Unit region,” Health Minister Christine Elliott said.
There have now been a total of 543,917 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ontario.
For comparison, last Saturday 355 cases were reported.

Thirteen new deaths were also announced on June 26, bringing the provincial virus-related death toll to 9,114.
A total of 532,074 coronavirus cases are considered resolved, which is up by 503 and is 97.8 per cent of all confirmed cases.
Just over 25,600 additional tests were completed. Ontario has now completed a total of 15,862,123 tests and 8,950 remain under investigation.
The province indicated that the positivity rate for the last day was 1.1 per cent, which is down from Friday’s report when it was 1.3 per cent, and down from last Saturday’s report when it was 1.4 per cent.
Provincial figures showed there are 286 people in intensive care due to COVID-19 (up by two), 183 of whom are on a ventilator (down by 19).

Here is a breakdown of Ontario’s cases by age and gender:
- 270,995 people are male
- 269,118 people are female
- 87,466 people are 19 and under
- 203,774 people are 20 to 39
- 155,268 people are 40 to 59
- 72,287 people are 60 to 79
- 25,020 people are 80 and over
The province notes that not all cases have a reported age or gender.
The province also notes that the number of cases publicly reported each day may not align with case counts reported by local public health units on a given day. Local public health units report when they were first notified of a case, which can be updated and changed as information becomes available. Data may also be pulled at different times.
Record number of new vaccinations
As of Friday evening, 13,824,469 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in Ontario, marking a record increase of 256,260 over 24 hours. Of those, 226,884 were second doses.
More than 77 per cent of adults aged 18-plus in Ontario have received at least one vaccine dose and 32.7 per cent are fully vaccinated.
