U.S. Stock Futures Edge Up as First Half Draws to a Close

U.S. stock futures edged up on the final day of the second quarter, suggesting the Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 could reach new records.

S&P 500 futures gained 0.1% and futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.1%. Nasdaq-100 futures added 0.2%. Changes in futures don’t necessarily predict movements after the markets open.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 ticked down less than 0.1% in morning trade as gains in materials and information technology sectors were tempered by losses in utilities and energy sectors.

Red Eléctrica Corp oración fell 4.9% for a two-day losing streak.

The U.K.’s FTSE 100 slipped 0.1%. Other stock in Europe were mostly lower as France’s CAC 40 edged down 0.2% and the U.K.’s FTSE 250 meandered after the flat line and Germany’s DAX was down 0.2%.
