SINGAPORE – When Tan Yuting, 27, tells people she is a composer, they sometimes assume that she writes Mandarin pop songs.
“People who don’t go to orchestral concerts might not even know there are still people writing classical music today,” says Tan, whose eclectic works might be loosely described as classical-contemporary.
