Robinhood, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s: What to Watch When the Stock Market Opens Today

Futures are wavering as investors await results from more of the biggest U.S. companies. Here’s what we’re watching ahead of Wednesday’s action:

  • Coca-Cola

    KO 2.59%

    shares jumped 2.9% premarket after the beverage maker reported third-quarter profit and revenue that rose above expectations and raised its full-year earnings growth view.

  • McDonald’s

    MCD 1.78%

    shares gained 2.8% after the burger chain reported third-quarter earnings and sales that beat expectations.

  • Robinhood Markets

    HOOD -10.29%

    shares dropped 8.3% premarket. Fees tied to stock and options trades ticked down slightly at the popular app, while revenue tied to cryptocurrency trading tumbled 78% to $51 million.

Robinhood’s cryptocurrency trading revenue fell sharply in the recent quarter.

    added 1.9%. The software company continued to benefit from the global shift toward remote work as its cloud business boosted its revenue last quarter.

    the blank-check company that is taking former President Donald Trump‘s social-media venture public, gained 6.2% premarket. The stock is trading up sixfold since the deal was announced.

  • Enphase Energy

    ENPH 24.22%

    jumped 19% premarket. KeyBanc lifted its price target for the stock after the solar technology company reported higher revenue during the recent quarter.

  • Google parent

    Alphabet

    GOOG 0.65%

    was little changed premarket, even after the search giant posted its highest quarterly revenue increase in 14 years, as smaller businesses pour money into digital ads.

  • Twitter

    TWTR -6.80%

    gained 1.6% premarket. The company largely dodged turmoil in the digital advertising market from new

    Apple

    AAPL -0.39%

    app privacy policies and supply-chain disruptions as it reported a 37% jump in third-quarter revenue.

  • Visa

    V -5.52%

    slipped 2.6%. The credit-card company beat earnings expectations amid higher payments volume, cross-border volume and processed transactions.

  • F5 Networks

    FFIV 7.45%

    climbed 3.6%. The software company reported after Tuesday’s close that revenue had grown 11% during its fiscal year.

  • Boeing

    BA 0.39%

    gained 2.4%. The aerospace company reported a quarterly loss as 787 Dreamliner production problems and its latest space-launch setback offset a recovery in demand for new aircraft.

  • Ford

    F -1.51%

    and

    eBay

    EBAY -0.87%

    are among the companies reporting earnings after Wednesday’s close.
