Nick Schifrin is the international affairs and protection correspondent for PBS NewsHour, primarily based in Washington, D.C. He leads NewsHour’s international reporting and has created week-long, in-depth sequence for NewsHour from China, Russia, Ukraine, Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Cuba, Mexico, and the Baltics. The PBS NewsHour sequence “Inside Putin’s Russia” gained a 2018 Peabody Award and the Nationwide Press Membership’s Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence. In November 2020, Schifrin acquired the American Academy of Diplomacy’s Arthur Ross Media Award for Distinguished Reporting and Evaluation of Overseas Affairs.
