SINGAPORE – House-grown bookstore Huggs-Epigram Espresso Bookshop will open its doorways as soon as extra on Jan 6 after a five-month hiatus.
It’s the first bookstore right here to promote solely books about Singapore, by Singapore writers or revealed in Singapore, and will likely be again on the City Redevelopment Authority centre in Maxwell Highway.
The 980 sq ft house was opened in March 2019 by writer Epigram Books and low chain Huggs. It had closed quickly in August, with Epigram founder Edmund Wee citing struggles with rental prices for the reason that 2020 circuit breaker.
In the meantime, the pop-up bookshop at 267 Seashore Highway that Epigram opened in August will shutter. Its final day of operations will likely be Dec 30, from 11am to 7pm.
The Huggs-Epigram Espresso Bookshop will mark its return to Maxwell Highway with a ten per cent store-wide low cost for its greater than 400 titles all through the month of January.
Its new working hours will likely be 10am to 6pm on weekdays solely. It will likely be closed on public holidays. Epigram will proceed to make use of a cashless cost system for e book purchases.
