LOS ANGELES (REUTERS) – The Grammy awards, which had been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, have been rescheduled for April 3 in Las Vegas, the Recording Academy and broadcaster CBS stated in a press release on Tuesday (Jan 18).
The awards, honouring high performances in music, had been set to happen on Jan 31 in Los Angeles.
Comic Trevor Noah will host the ceremony, which shall be televised and streamed stay from the MGM Grand Backyard Area.
Nominations for the awards have been introduced in November.
Pianist and bandleader Jon Batiste led a subject that ranged from rap to jazz music and embraced newcomers from teen pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo to veteran crooner Tony Bennett, 95, who received his first Grammy in 1963.
The CMT Awards for nation music, which had been set for April 3, will now happen later in April, CBS stated.
