Avaricio to ride crest of strong showing going to Eagle Ridge

Chanelle Avaricio is now definitely one of the players to watch when the P750,000 ICTSI Eagle Ridge Ladies Classic tees off at the Norman course this week.

Unlike when the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour restarted last week and Princess Superal and Harmie Constantino were mentioned as favorites in the Sherwood Hills stop, Avaricio’s performance there definitely merits for her a second look.

She finished second by a shot to Superal, who birdied the 53rd hole and avoided dropping into a playoff with Avaricio.

“I really hope to ride this momentum and keep working hard for the tournaments to come,” Avaricio, who played college golf for Alabama State University in the United States, said.

Avaricio, who hasn’t finished higher than fourth in her young pro career, will definitely feel the pressure from Superal, and then from Constantino, who will try to rebound from a lackluster final round at Sherwood.
