DENVER — Former Colorado Supreme Justice Gregory J. Hobbs Jr., the state’s preeminent authority on water regulation and its historical past, died Monday. He was 76, two weeks wanting his birthday.
His household launched an announcement Tuesday night saying he died “peacefully together with his household” after a pulmonary embolism.
He’s survived by his spouse, Bobbie, and kids, Dan and Emily.
Hobbs grew to become a lawyer in Denver for the U.S. Environmental Safety Company in 1973. He retired from the excessive court docket in 2015. He was nominated by Democratic Gov. Roy Romer in 1996.
