Former DPS board member Dr. Sharon Bailey dies

DENVER — A lady who spent her life preventing for Black college students in Denver Public Faculties (DPS) has died.

The district mentioned Dr. Sharon Bailey, 68, handed away at her dwelling Friday evening.

Bailey was first elected to the college board in 1988 and served till 1995.

After her service on the board, she researched training coverage.

Her 2016 report on the racism skilled by African American college students and employees led the district to create the Denver Public Faculties African American Fairness Process Pressure.
