FTC Challenges Nvidia’s Billion Deal for Arm Holdings

WASHINGTON—The Federal Commerce Fee on Thursday sued to dam U.S. chip provider Nvidia Corp.’s proposed landmark takeover of semiconductor-design specialist Arm Holdings, arguing the chip-industry deal is anticompetitive.

The lawsuit marks the start of what’s prone to be an aggressive antitrust marketing campaign by the FTC underneath the management of Chairwoman Lina Khan, a progressive tapped by President Biden in June to guide the company.
