Deputy Clay Livingston died of COVID-19 on Friday.

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. — A memorial service has been deliberate for an Elbert County sheriff’s deputy who died within the line of obligation. 

Deputy Clay Livingston died on Friday, his thirtieth birthday, after a brief sickness, in accordance with a launch. It was later confirmed he died of COVID-19.

Livingston joined the Elbert County Sheriff’s Workplace in 2019 and was a patrol officer on the night time shift, the discharge mentioned. He beforehand served within the U.S. Marine Corps.

He leaves behind a spouse and two younger kids, the discharge mentioned.

“Clay shall be significantly missed by all who knew him,” Sheriff Tim Norton mentioned in a press release the day Livingston handed away. “He was a devoted public servant and labored honorably to assist make Elbert County a safer neighborhood. He was a helpful member of our Sheriff’s Workplace household and we’re heartbroken by his loss.”  

The memorial service shall be held at 11 a.m. Monday at New Life Church at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs. It will likely be open to the general public.

There can even be a procession in Livingston’s honor. It’s estimated to start at 1:10 p.m. Regulation enforcement and different public security businesses are invited to take part. Right here is the route:

  • East on New Life Drive to Interquest Parkway (Freeway 83)
  • North on Interquest Parkway to Powers Boulevard (Freeway 21)
  • South on Powers Boulevard to Carefree Circle North
  • East on Carefree Circle North to Marksheffel Boulevard
  • South on Marksheffel Boulevard to Drennan Highway

The procession will disperse at Drennan Highway to permit the household a non-public graveside ceremony.

Donations for Livingston’s household could be made to the Elbert County Sheriff’s Workplace Basis.
