“He’s not shutting down the virus,” DeSantis said of Biden. “He’s helping facilitate it.”
Still, Collins acknowledged the virus could inevitably spread among migrants, even with the masking requirements. But he emphasized it’s not the force behind the rise in cases.
Rather than pin the spread of the Delta Covid-19 variant on undocumented immigrants, Collins said government leaders should first address Americans who have refused to receive a vaccine.
“We’ve got enough of a problem with our own citizens who have refused to roll up their sleeves, so maybe that would be a better thing to focus on if we are trying to end this,” Collins said.
