Canada has captured its 13th medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after winning bronze at the women’s 4×100-metre medley relay finals.

The United States nabbed silver while Australia finished first with a new Olympic record of 3:51.60.

Penny Oleksiak, who swam anchor in the relay, won the seventh Olympic medal of her career — marking the 21-year-old as Canada’s most decorated Olympian.

Sydney Pickrem also picked up her first medal while Maggie Mac Neil and Kylie Masse won their third. The four finished with a time of 3:52.60, breaking their previous national record set after winning bronze at the 2019 FINA World Championships.
