U.S. stock futures edged down after Wall Street indexes snapped a five-session winning streak and ahead of a policy update from the Federal Reserve.
S&P 500 futures declined 0.1% and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 0.2%. Changes in futures don’t necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.2% in morning trade as gains in utilities and healthcare sectors were muted by losses in financials and communication services sectors.
Barclays climbed 4.1% and ITV added 3.6%.
The U.K.’s FTSE 100 meandered near the flat line. Other stock indexes in Europe mostly climbed as France’s CAC 40 rose 0.2%, the U.K.’s FTSE 250 gained 0.4% and Germany’s DAX added 0.2%.
